The full variety of technical textiles
From PPE to sound absorption and 3D technology: Sales employee Andrea Handstanger gives an insight into the variety of Getzner Textil products that await visitors at Techtextil in Frankfurt from 23 to 26 April 2024.
What will Getzner Textil be presenting at Techtextil 2024?
Andrea: Our portfolio in the field of technical textiles includes PPE, workwear, outdoor and sportswear as well as sports equipment. Our own brand Guardiantex will also be presented, as well as our own brand acunic for acoustic textiles. We will also be informing about the potential of our innovative 3D technology.
We have extensive expertise that we are continuously developing in our own development centre. We produce in a resource-saving manner and "made in Europe". A "hello" at our trade fair stand is definitely worthwhile.
What makes PPE from Getzner Textil special?
Andrea: We offer fabrics for PPE in different designs, because the requirements vary greatly depending on the area of application. From bi-elastic workwear with high wearing comfort to high-tech fabrics for PPE, everything is included. Our fabrics fulfil numerous standards. We continuously check compliance with these strict requirements in our internal laboratories.
What are the areas of application for Guardiantex?
Andrea: Guardiantex is Getzner Textil's own brand and stands for our high-tech fabric for PPE. The fabric is used, for example, as protective equipment for police and military personnel. But Guardiantex also fulfils the high requirements for workwear and protective clothing for forestry workers, motorcyclists and firefighters.
What effect do acoustic textiles from acunic have?
Andrea: acunic is used wherever the sojourn quality in rooms needs to be improved. Thanks to the high sound absorption level of 90 per cent, which is achieved purely through the textile, acoustic textiles are very effective. They are also easy to use thanks to flexible systems.
What requirements do fabrics for sports and outdoor clothing fulfil?
Andrea: They are durable and breathable, but at the same time highly elastic for a comfortable fit. Our sustainable fabrics, which are made of polyamides from castor oil or recycled car tyres, for example, are used in the sports and outdoor clothing sector in particular.
Technical textiles and sustainability – do they go together?
Andrea: Compared to fashion fabrics, technical textiles are more difficult to certify as "Made in Green" (Note: Made in Green by OEKO-TEX®). Nevertheless, Getzner Textil has some products that fulfil these strict requirements. Sustainable workwear is possible with Getzner – the demand is high.
What is the importance of sustainability at Getzner Textil?
Andrea: For our family business, sustainability is an important part of our corporate philosophy. For many years now, we have attached particular importance to resource-saving production. The Getzner Group produces electricity from its own hydropower and a district heating network was put into operation back in 2001.
