National award for Getzner Textil

Getzner Textil is national award winner "Family and Career"

Getzner Textil was honoured with the national "Family and Career" award, making it the most family-friendly company in Austria in the category "Private commercial enterprises with 101 or more employees".

CEO Roland Comploj

The national award was presented in Vienna last Thursday. "We are delighted to be able to hold the 'Family and Career' award in our hands. Getzner Textil is a traditional Vorarlberg family business, and a large part of our success is based on our employees. A good life and good work require a sustainable environment. The families of our employees are the central relationship communities that we want to support accordingly on the part of the company," says CEO Roland Comploj, explaining the importance of the family for the company.

Role model in company childcare

The main argument in favour of the expert jury was the excellent implementation of the company's childcare facilities. In a very short space of time, "Getzners Buntstiftle" and "Getzners Buntspechtle" childcare facilities were created, which currently provide places for 35 employees' children. The high quality of the centres was confirmed last week when they were awarded the MINT seal of approval.

The company childcare scheme was initiated in 2016 by Perrine Getzner, Head of HR Development, who emphasises the high-quality childcare facilities as a way of making it easier for employees to return to work: "Both of my children were and are allowed to attend the company's childcare facilities - this is a huge benefit and a relief for me and my husband as working professionals. We want to pass this good feeling on to our employees."

Further family-friendly offer

In addition to company childcare, many other measures promote the compatibility of work and family life at Getzner Textil. These include holiday childcare, structured parental leave management, individual working time models and, for example, counter-shift models for partners. A psychological service is available free of charge for personal and family matters. Tutoring services are free of charge for apprentices during working hours and the company also provides financial support for childcare.

"Family friendliness is a matter close to our company's heart. We don't want to stand still in the future, we want to continuously improve. For example, we are currently actively promoting paternity leave and are planning general support measures in the area of paternal involvement," explains Perrine Getzner.

"Getzners Buntspechtle" is the first company-run nature childcare centre in Vorarlberg.

Family friendliness as a competitive advantage

When asked what advantages result from a family-friendly HR policy, CEO Roland Comploj replies: "A good work-life balance is a key competitive advantage for us when it comes to attracting well-trained specialists and managers. The award makes our commitment visible to the public. In this way, we also raise awareness in society and among other companies for more family friendliness in the workplace."

National award as the highest honour

The national award "Family and Career" is presented by the Federal Minister for Women, Family, Integration and Media and honours Austrian companies and institutions for particularly outstanding achievements in the area of family-conscious personnel policy. Getzner Textil has already secured its second prestigious award with the "Family and Career" national award: In 2022, Getzner Textil was awarded the national apprenticeship award in the "Apprenticeship Marketing & Recruitment" category.
