Here, sustainability is lived.

Here, sustainability is lived.

Michael Schranz is Head of the Safety, Environment and Energy Department at Getzner Textil. Both professionally and privately, conscious interaction and living with nature is important to him.

Environmental engineer - a profession that is inextricably linked with concepts such as innovation, development and the future. It was clear to Michael Schranz as early as his school days at the HTL Dornbirn that he wanted to work in precisely these areas. After completing his studies at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria and his first professional positions, his path finally led him to Getzner Textil in 2017, where he now heads the Safety, Environment and Energy department. ‘At Getzner Textil, we don't just pay lip service,’ emphasises Michael. ‘The environment and sustainability are taken seriously and investments are made accordingly.’ One example of this is the new photovoltaic system, which was put into operation in November. ‘The investment in wastewater pre-treatment in 2020 was also an innovative project that sets an example in the industry.’

Social sustainability

Getzner Textil invests a lot in the environment - but also in its employees. Michael particularly appreciates the company childcare centre. ‘My two children have felt very comfortable from the very beginning. My little son has been attending the nature childcare centre since September and spends a lot of time outdoors,’ he says. As a nature-loving family man, this means a lot to him. ‘We are a very sporty family - hiking, skiing or tobogganing are always on our programme.’ Michael can therefore be sure that his passion for the outdoors is not only realised during family outings, but is also encouraged during childcare.
